The Non-League Challenge Cup is an event primarily, though
by no means exclusively, intended for players who find it difficult to attend
the club’s regular meetings on Wednesday nights. It’ll be a low-key
competition, probably with only a small number of entrants, so would be ideal
for beginners or players who are comparatively new to the game. Entry is open to
players from anywhere in the country (or indeed abroad), not just Lincoln
Flickers members.
The concept of the tournament is simple. Players can choose
to represent any non-league club (as defined at the bottom of the page) either
using a team of their own or one of the many available to borrow. If possible,
try to choose a team with colours that resemble those of the club you’re
representing, although don’t worry if you can’t manage this.
The competition takes place on
SUNDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2011
1.30pm-5.30pm
AT THE MORNING STAR PUB, GREETWELL GATE, LINCOLN
The precise format of the competition will depend upon the number of entrants, but it is likely that there will be trophies for the competition winners and runners-up and probably for the plate winners and runners-up as well. The cost of entry is £5.
You can enter by using the entry form here, by emailing me at jaypeedee1956@yahoo.co.uk, or by messaging me on either The Independent Subbuteo Forum or The Subbuteo Players’ Forum. Please be sure to include at least one alternative choice of team in case your preferred selection has already been picked by someone else.
IMPORTANT
– PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING
For the purposes of this competition a non-league team is
defined as one which meets either of the following criteria:
1. A team which currently plays in an English competition
outside the Football League and Premiership;
2. An extinct team which disbanded whilst playing
non-league football as defined above.
Thus, current football league teams with a history of playing non-league football are not eligible. If this isn’t clear, or you have any other queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
